Soft pastels, big impact
As the sun makes more frequent appearances and the days grow noticeably longer, I can feel the energy in our Brandhouse shifting. There’s a growing desire for lightness, for clothes that breathe and colours that stimulate our senses.
If, like me, you don’t always fancy bold, contrasting colours but are looking for shades that give your look that little bit extra, then this summer’s pastel palette is the perfect match for you. These are colours that are easy to ‘get into’, because they’re light, easy to combine and simply always feel right. These are the shades that will instantly give your wardrobe a summery boost.

Selected especially for you

This season’s soft favourites
The 2026 colour palette is versatile and far from ‘sweet’. We’re seeing shades that look sophisticated and bring a beautiful balance to your everyday outfits:
Soft Yellow: Perhaps my absolute favourite pastel shade right now! Vanilla yellow is like sunshine in your wardrobe. It instantly brightens up your outfit and pairs brilliantly with denim, heather grey or warm brown tones.
Mint Green: Following the warmer earth tones of recent seasons, mint green is making a fresh comeback. It feels cool and just that little bit different – a cheerful surprise in your wardrobe.
Soft Peach: Soft peach tones give your face a natural glow. Ideal for summer dresses or as a light layer over a basic top.
Lilac: Forget the girly image; this year, lilac is mature and strong. The colour stands out without being loud and pairs beautifully with sleeker, heavier fabrics for an interesting contrast.
Ice Blue: This shade is truly everywhere this season. From light blouses to full suits; ice blue feels crisp and refined. It’s the perfect base, but also works brilliantly in a full tone-on-tone look for a powerful statement.
The quiet strength of Off-White
Among all these colours, off-white is the essential link. It is the colour that brings everything together. For an ultra-chic look, combine white with cream and finish the outfit with black or brown accessories. It forms the calm foundation on which you can build the rest of your seasonal wardrobe. At the same time, off-white brings a sense of calm and sophistication to your look, precisely because it is so subtly present. It allows other colours to stand out more effectively and gives your outfit a light, fresh look that is perfectly suited to the season.

How to style: Balance and Texture
Pastels look their best when you pair them with the right contrasts. At Orangebag, we always recommend focusing on balance:
‘Pair your pastels with neutral basics such as white jeans or a beige coat. This keeps the look calm and stylish, whilst allowing the colour to shine.’
Materials play a crucial role here. A soft pastel-coloured knit feels completely different from the same colour in sturdy denim. It is precisely by playing with these different textures that you give your outfit depth and character.
Want to take a subtle approach? Then start with a single pastel accent. A pastel-coloured bag or a sophisticated silk blouse paired with rugged jeans makes a world of difference. It’s a small touch with a big, fashionable impact.
I find that this palette just makes me look forward to summer even more. It’s an invitation to take things a bit easier and enjoy the gentleness of the season. Which pastel shade will be in your suitcase this year?
