the new collection
Like the constant change of the silhouette of a dynamic metropolis, the Dagmar collection of Autumn/Winter 2011 takes traditional styles and patterns and adds a contemporary twist. This season, a sensual and intellectual Parisienne – similar to a contemporary Nikita – sets the style.
Twisted cuts and wrapped solutions together with sporty details and sequins. In this collection - based on traditional shapes - it’s in the details. Features, like extra wrapped layers, sporty sweatshirt details or graphical cuts and patterns make the garment. The items in the collection are classic, though the silhouette is mostly stretched out to a tall and slim look, resembling that of a tube. The garments are tailored for the strong, intellectual woman, who continuously updates her clothing in order to meet new urban needs. As the metropolis, which is constantly reconstructed, she puts great importance to new, delicate details.
Just as a city never loses its unique guise or history - as old, out-of-date building blocks are replaced and new constructions are being built – the traditional wardrobe of this modern Nikita is constantly reinvented through small, but significant, alterations. For all her renewal, she never loses her personality or goes astray from her own style, says Kristina Tjäder, Dagmar´s designer.
Qualities are hairy and curly, soft and inspired by natural stone or with a rich hang. The knitted garments have graphical patterns or are adorned with sequins. A bustier made of leather, shaped like armour with graphical cuts runs through the collection like a red thread.
The urban materials also influence this season’s palette: marble, granite, slate and tarmac – all subdued colours that are complemented with nuances of the brownish trees; olive and honey. Sparkling emerald and rich amber are contrasting accent colours. Prints are inspired by nature, one resembling of the structure of natural stone, others are graphical like the leather bustier.
